Planned Outages
Useful Electrical and Gas Service Outage Information
Montana-Dakota Utilities provides electric and gas services to communities throughout the region and occasionally service interruptions occur. Service interruptions are either scheduled or unscheduled occurrences that affect the availability of gas or electric resources to our customers. If you experience a gas or electrical service emergency please contact Montana-Dakota by phone, 24 hours a day by calling 800-638-3278.

The world’s weather is an incredibly complex and amazing wonder of nature. Unfortunately, sometimes the weather affects the infrastructure that Montana-Dakota Utilities uses to provide customers with access to resources. Understanding Outage Map Functions
Search
Customers can enter the zip code for their city or the address into the search field. The Outage Map will center and zoom to the specified location. If using a mobile device, users can select the location icon (top middle of map) and use their devices GPS signal as a point of reference to zoom and center the map.
Clusters View
The "Clusters" view displays data in circles which are colored based on the number of customers affect by the outage. The maps legend explains the cluster colors. Users can click on a cluster within the map to zoom to an area and see a more detailed view.
Heatmap View
The "Heatmap" view displays information based on the density of the service outage in the area. The map's legend defines the colors. User will need to double-click the area or use the map's scale-slider (top left of map) in order to zoom into an area.
Data
All map data is updated every 15 minutes. To view current data users may need to refresh the page in the browser.
